ABOUT THIS SITE

Pandanus.net is principally a display of the photographic and multimedia work undertaken individually and collaboratively by Grayson Cooke and Dea Morgain. Dea and Grayson live in South East Queensland and much of the work displayed on pandanus.net has been inspired by this amazing environment in which they now find themselves.

Dea has been making photographic pieces since the 80s and studied media art at RMIT. Her current interest is in the ‘tropical' aesthetic and how this is informed by a culture of heat and distance. Having lived in Southern cities for many years this current experience of sub-tropical living challenges previous held notions of taste, style and civility.

Grayson is a writer, new media artist and academic currently employed as a multimedia lecturer at the Bundaberg Campus of Central Queensland University. A few years ago Grayson lived in Montreal, Canada, which was wonderful but very cold. He is now quite enjoying the subtropics.
